Event Description

[Eugene, Oregon] – Join your local Master GardenersTM and friends for the annual Fall Gardening Festival sponsored by the Lane County Master GardenerTM Association. Sunday, September 26, 2010, will be fun and educational. The festival will be held at Oak Hill School, 86397 Eldon Schafer Drive, Eugene; east of LCC - just off I-5. It opens at 9:00 a.m. sharp and ends at 3:00 p.m.

A used book sale, a bake sale and live music will be among the many offerings to enjoy. The ever popular Ask-A-Master-GardenerTM booth will be staffed by trained volunteers prepared to answer your questions. We encourage you to bring samples of plant and insect problems. Come early and bring the whole family as the admission is Free! There will even be a petting zoo for kids of all ages. Featured workshop topics this year include:

These are female Rufous Hummingbirds. They are the most common hummingbird in Oregon. The male Rufous have much more red on their heads, back and belly with a red throat. I make my own nectar, the red dye is not good for them.
