Avast and ahoy! Kids and families will enjoy swashbuckling stories and crafts at a free celebration of Talk Like a Pirate Day on Saturday, September 18, at 3:00 p.m. at the Downtown Eugene Public Library. For extra fun, travel to the library with the pirate-themed Kidical Mass Bike Ride, setting sail at 2:00 p.m. from Sheldon Community Center. Costumes encouraged.

I took a morning walk in the Alton Baker Park area and got a few photos of the Fall colors. I think our long HOT summer took a toll on the trees as many had a rather drab color to them. Some were not that bad though. And it is still just a little early for some of them to have a more vibrant color.
