Event Description

Girls ages 2-18 are royally invited to become "Princesses for a Day," and admission is free for girls in foster care (with advanced registration at www.afamilyforeverychild.org).

When: Sunday March 6, 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Where: The Valley River Inn, Eugene

Cost: Free for foster girls. $50 for each non-foster girl and one royal (adult) guest, with ticket price supporting the cost of a foster "princess" in the community.

What: Every girl will receive a princess gown she can take home, plus a crown and slippers. The "royal treatment" includes hair, nail and makeup styling, plus a tea party and a special photo shoot.

Get involved: Anyone can help by donating princess dresses and princess accessories or food for the tea party. Sponsorship is also greatly needed.

These are female Rufous Hummingbirds. They are the most common hummingbird in Oregon. The male Rufous have much more red on their heads, back and belly with a red throat. I make my own nectar, the red dye is not good for them.
