UPS Portland Hub opened July, 2010. The new $86 million facility, including parking and trailer staging areas, spans 46 acres.

Details:

Witness one of the leaders in Global Logistics in operation. The tour will be tailored around the day “sort-time”. In action will be their newest technology, decreasing the sort effort needed, with improved sort accuracy. The facility also features waste water recycling system, super-efficient lighting, and solid waste recycling.

Parking Directions:
The employee parking lot is located prior to the building, across the street from the Customer counter. Visitors will need to park there and walk North on Basin to Ensign Street. Cross at Ensign/Basin, and go to the South Guard Shack. You will be greeted by the UPS Team, who will sign you thru, and direct you to where the tour will begin.

There was a second, more faint halo further out from the first one today. It was way too big for me to get even HALF of it in frame on my dinky camera but I did manage to capture a section of it. There was also a Lower Tangent Arc for awhile.
