Event Description

National Medical Laboratory Professionals Week April 24-30

Since 1975, the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS) has set aside this week to celebrate and honor clinical and medical laboratorians representing 300,000 practitioners in the U.S. who play an increasingly vital role in the diagnosis and prevention of disease.

As team members of one of the largest industries in the U.S., “Lab Week” events and activities recognize the dedicated efforts of caregivers by celebrating their vital contributions to health care. Whatever the setting – behind the scenes or out in the community – laboratory professionals are working as key members of your health care team.

From April 24-30, we celebrate their vital role in promoting and protecting our health. Laboratory professionals get results!

As part of the Laboratories’ community based focus, a regional food bank drive has been organized this year as part of the Lab Week activities. Working with Food for Lane County, please bring your non-perishable items for placement in the collection bins clearly marked for this purpose in the Patient Service Centers where lab tests are collected.

PeaceHealth Laboratories is a division of PeaceHealth, a not-for-profit health care system with a mission of promoting personal and community health. PeaceHealth Laboratories provides comprehensive laboratory services throughout the Pacific Northwest and specialty testing to clinicians and employers across the U.S. With 10 laboratories and 24 patient service centers in three states, PeaceHealth Laboratories is one of the largest laboratory systems in the region.
