May 20: Rent-a-Pooch

Time: 11am – 4pm

Where: Memorial Quad (Lawn in front of the Knight Library) on the University of Oregon campus

Greenhill Humane Society and the Oregon Voice Magazine present the third-ever Rent-a-Pooch! The original Rent-a-Pooch was held in the spring of 2008 at the University of Oregon. This year's Rent-a-Pooch is a five-hour event where students and community members alike have the opportunity to interact with and enjoy the company of man's best friend. Participants will be able to rent a canine for either a quarter-hour, half-an-hour or hour increment and will be provided toys, treats, and a leash to help entertain the dog. Proceeds from this event will go towards Greenhill Humane Society efforts to help homeless animals. Reservations will begin at 10:30am and will be on a first-come first-serve basis. Rentals start at just five dollars!

I was looking out my back window, when I saw this deer. First it smelled one of our plants, then it walked up to the hummingbird feeder and smelled the flowers on it.

I took this photo from the Dee Wright Observatory at the summit of the old McKenzie Hwy. A nice day trip up from Springfield.
