Event Description

International Harvester Scouts and Trucks of Oregon (IHSTO) announces The 2009 Great Western Binder Bee, is set for free public admission July 11, 9AM-5PM, and July 12, 9AM -12PM at Antique Powerland. Antique Powerland is located in Brooks Oregon. 1/4 mile west off of Exit 263 on I-5 (about 8 miles north of Salem) Take I-5 to exit 263. Go west 2 blocks on Brooklake Rd and you will see us on the north side of the road.

The theme selected for the 2009 event is...“International Harvester ...Keeps Oregon Moving"

Displays will showcase the contributions that IH products have made to the industrial, agricultural, transportation and recreational industries prevalent in the Northwestern United States. This is a particularly appropriate focus as we are also celebrating the Oregon Statehood Sesquicentennial this year.

A full schedule of participant meet and greet, Show and Shine, children’s activities, a Parade of Power for show registrants, and a catered participant barbecue dinner and raffle will fill Saturday’s agenda.

Food, gifts and drinks (non-alcoholic) will be available for purchase.

IH vehicles and IH-related products will be on display throughout the weekend and a judging team will select the outstanding display examples for awards, highlighted by the Ernie Bisio Award which honors Oregon’s own Ernie Bisio who is a living legend in the International Harvester world!

“Vendor Village” will include many specialty parts and service providers who are major supporters of International Harvester enthusiasts and end users around the country. Many other regional IH organizations will be in attendance representing agricultural machinery, construction equipment, household appliances, and stationary engines and equipment.

Antique Powerland is a power equipment heritage site operated by the Antique Powerland Museum Association, a non-profit organization. Antique Powerland was originally established by a group of enthusiasts dedicated to the preservation, restoration and demonstration of steam powered equipment, antique farm machinery and implements. Attractions include Pacific NW Truck Museum, Willow Creek Railroad, Oregon Electric Railway Museum, The Brooks Depot Museum, and the steam-powered saw mill. http://www.antiquepowerland.com
