In this morning's Heart Gallery story, a 12-year-old....who is looking for his forever family.
“During spring break, we had an opportunity to meet up with Avery at Salem's Gilbert House Children's Museum. This quiet 12 year old was really good around the small children who were there, that day....and perhaps the Gilbert house wasn't the most interesting place for him, but he made the best of it.
I'd never been to the Gilbert house, so he showed me some of his favorite things from years ago, from a balancing board....to the maze. He proceeded to lose me almost immediately.
Although Avery likes the outdoors, he says, one of his favorite things to do, right now, is to read and his favorite book is? ("the Hobbit." "really?")
