Laura Rillos is a general assignment reporter. She's proud to be a member of the KVAL News team.

Before coming to the Northwest, Laura was a weekend anchor and reporter at KSWT in her hometown, Yuma, Arizona. Memorable stories included touring border smuggling routes, President Bush's two visits to the US-Mexico border and sky diving with the US Army's Golden Knights. Laura also filled in as a weathercaster and on the sports desk--which only reaffirmed her love for news.

Laura earned her journalism degree cum laude at the University of Arizona. She has won Oregon Associated Press awards for her live reporting and feature stories.

When she's not working, you can find Laura spending time with her husband and their two cats, Crash and Nuke. She also loves exploring the Pacific Northwest, especially the running trails. After completing her first marathon in June 2007, Laura was hooked on distance running. She ran the Eugene Half-Marathon in 2008 and 2009.
