Lauren joined the news team in July 2011.

Originally from Los Angeles, Lauren is a graduate of the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School for Journalism. She earned her degree in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Business Entrepreneurship.

During her time at USC, she reported for Annenberg TV News, the university’s nightly live newscast. She also produced long-form documentaries for Impact Newsmagazine Show. After graduation, Lauren got her start in reporting at Channel 3 in Garden Grove, covering the entire Orange County, California area.

One of Lauren’s greatest passions is traveling. She writes all about her adventures, and her stories have appeared in CNN and Lonely Planet. She studied abroad in Hong Kong, went backpacking throughout Vietnam and Cambodia, taught English in the countryside of China, sang countless renditions of cheesy karaoke songs in Thailand, and has gotten lost too many times to count.

When she’s not in the newsroom, Lauren enjoys playing and watching sports. She’s been playing basketball ever since she was five years old. Besides that, she loves hiking, being outdoors, blogging and spending time with friends and family.
