Chief Meteorologist
Candace Campos joined the KVAL Weather Team as the new Chief Meteorologist in September 2012 .

She came to Eugene from sunny Miami, Florida with years of experience in weather forecasting and production at WSVN-7 (FOX Affiliate).

She is a proud graduate of Florida International University, where she earned her bachelors degree in Meteorology, graduated Magnum Cum Laude, and was inducted to the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa Arts and Science Honor Society. Candace is also a member of the American Meteorological Society, and the National Weather Association.
She also now holds the broadcast seal from the National Weather Association.

As a child, her first hand experience with Hurricane Andrew became a catalyst in her desire to become a meteorologist; and continues to be the driving force behind her goal to inform, educate and empower her viewers on all aspects of weather.

During her down time, she enjoys community service, arts & crafts, baking homemade goodies and watching movies with her husband and their Maltese, Bella.

She can’t wait to become involved in the community and experience everything that Eugene and the Pacific Northwest has to offer!

You can see Candace weeknight evenings at 5,6 and 11 right here on KVAL news.
