'It's not uncommon to have warming fires started by homeless individuals'
EUGENE, Ore - Fire officials said a tool shed fire broke out early Friday morning.
It happened near W. 2nd Ave. and Chambers St. after 3 a.m., Eugene Battalion Chief, Don Vaught said.
"It appears the doors to the shed may have been opened and it's not uncommon to have warming fires started by homeless individuals during this time of year," he said.
The Eugene Mission homeless shelter is located nearby. The fire is still under investigation.
Officials said the fully involved shed fire in the backyard that could have spread to the vacant house.
The fire station is right across the street from the scene and fire officials were able to put it out quickly so that it didn't spread to the businesses next door.
Sounds like a perfect excuse to seek out more inviting and friendly communities..with more resources.
Places like San Fransisco, or Arizona perhaps?
Yeah what's the matter with these guys trying to keep warm. The nerve of them huh?

Did you better people (you know you people who think you are better than the homeless) know you can be ticketed for sleeping in your car or camper on public land to the tune of $275.00 for the first offense and $500.00 for a second. Plus they can confiscate your camper or car at the second offense!
Â
What kind of people would create and or enforce a law like that?
Â
I'll tell you who, The Mayor, the City Counsel, and the Eugene Police Department, etc....
Â
This city doesn't give two Sh*** about the homeless, because they are arrogant, uncaring, and immoral people!
Hopefully you've set an example and opened up your home and yard to as many homeless individuals as you can cram inside. Don't forget to provide space for tents and campfires in your front and back yards.Â
You could provide the proper Hazardous Waste containers for the needles they use, but they hate it when people tell them what to do! You'll have to pick them up yourself.
Then there's the garbage you'll have to pick up, because even if you provide them with a can, they won't use it. Forget about a portable toilet. They'll prefer to crap in your bushes, the side of your home, or under your window to show you they could care less about your efforts. Don't bother locking up anything important to you either. They will help themselves to whatever they damn well choose. And notify you're neighbors that they might as well forget about locking the doors. The new tenants will just break out the windows of home and auto alike.
But the reality is..
If you have a home...you don't have any homeless living there with you.
You want the City to do something for them, not yourself
You probably don't donate to any fundraisers or charities
You likely don't donate any of your time.
I donate money. I have a right to be disturbed by the lack of manners or appreciation that some present. Drug addicts, alcoholics, mentally disturbed....it's not pretty, and many have made bad decision after bad decision their entire lives to end up where they are today.Â
There are some very good people who need a hand "UP"
There are many more who just want a hand "OUT"Â

@flor3nc3 Looks like you have it all (and me) figured out. Strong, concerned about his neighbors, caring and loving toward his brothers and sisters. And not at all judgmental, and you would never attack someone personally for their opinions! A real God fearing man.
Yes I want to be like you sir, and I would work really hard to attain that with your help of course. You could like guide me, and of course I realize I would have to pay you for this service and your vast knowledge of life!Â
Thank you so much for your insight into this situation and for making things I do not understand so clear to me...
@flor3nc3You are a MORON!
you're welcome...it's what I do
