The Springfield Historic Commission will meet on October 13, 2009 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at Springfield City Hall (225 Fifth Street) in the Library Meeting Room. The public is welcome to attend.
The Springfield Historic Commission was established in 1977 to educate the public about the importance of historic resources, promote the use of these resources within the community, and stabilize property values.
The Commission oversees the use and preservation of all buildings and sites in the Washburne Historic District and the City Landmark Inventory. Major and minor alterations, building relocation, and demolition of structures are reviewed by the Commission. The Commission consists of seven members who meet on the second Tuesday of each month, or as needed.
