The Golden Age of Radio comes alive in a dramatic re-creation of the 1938 radio program, "War of the Worlds," to be performed Oct. 9-11 at the Wildish Community Theater, 630 Main St. in Springfield.

A short stretch of 52nd Street in Springfield will be closed Thursday, so plan your commute accordingly.

The road will be closed from G Street up to the intersection with Highway 126. The closure is scheduled to last from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.

You can't take your dog here yet, but progress is being made on the four-acre park. The park was just seeded with a special "self-healing" turf.

It will have an area for large breed dogs and one for small breeds.
