Event Description

Long version:
On Tuesday evening, September 9th, an "Open Microphone Musical Benefit for Habitat for Humanity" will be held on stage at the Axe and Fiddle Music Pub, located at 641 East Main Street in Cottage Grove.
This monthly event is a benefit for the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity to help the folks at Habitat fund the construction of housing within our community for families that would not be able to afford to own a home otherwise. It is open to all. There is no cover charge; donations are gratefully accepted; and the talent is always mostly quite good.
If you would like to perform at the open mike, show up and sign up at 6:30pm. If you would like to be part of our audience, please join us any time from 6:30pm on for this unique local display of talent and generosity, which supports a worthy non-profit cause, Cottage Grove’s local branch of Habitat for Humanity.
At long last, people under 21 are now allowed into the pub until 8:30 pm in order to enjoy and participate in the evening, but not to drink alcoholic beverages. The Axe and Fiddle has worked since it first opened to get its alcoholic beverage license modified to permit minors to come in and stay for a couple of hours; and that effort has finally succeeded.)
Once again, for those who are writing this down: Tuesday, September 9th, beginning at 6:30pm, at the Axe and Fiddle. If you'd like more information, feel free to call the Master of Ceremonies, Roger Kahane (who is also one of our local amateur musicians) at 942-3878.
