April Heart Gallery Child

By Kendra Schmitt

Crystol is 12 years old. Although she is quite creative and loves art. She had never done any beading, so Shelley took her down to Harlequin Beads, where beading is their business and Crystol found a new love!

Harlequin's manager, Michele Rose showed us around the display cases and showed Crystol all the treasure she can create.

Crystol found some stones she liked... then she some some figurines. She loved the texture of the small beads

But she decided on a bracelet to celebrate her March birthday. She and Michelle worked on it together.

A few final touches and Crystol's bracelet was done.

It's aquamarine blue, her birthstone and lime green crystals, a favorite color. The cross represents her faith, something very important to her.

Crystol shared with Shelley some of her heartaches. It seemed she wanted to share more.

Despite the disappointments, Crystol is remarkably resilient and upbeat.

The lucky family that adopts Crystol, will get a fun, loving, thoughtful young woman who's going to blossom, and is just anxious to get started.

This month the Heart Gallery can be seen at: Valley River Center, The Gateway Mall, The Oakway Center, Eugene Airport, The Eugene Faith Center, Friendly Street Market in South Eugene, Strike City Bowling and Putters, The Cottage Grove Community Center and Ray's Food Center in Creswell.
