Abdul Qasim Ray Zahir, age 20 and a resident of the Seattle area, was the driver of the silver Chevy Impala who attempted to elude State Troopers today. He was Taken into custody and Lodged in the Lane County Jail for the following charges, a valid out of state warrant (fugitive from justice), Reckless driving, Reckless Endangering x5, Felony Elude vehicle, Criminal mischief I, Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance Schedule I, Unlawful Delivery of Controlled Substance Schedule I, Assault 3, Assault 4, DUII.

One of the passengers Nicholas Johnson age 24 a resident of Seattle Washington, was also arrested and later lodged in the Lane County Jail for Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance Schedule I.

The occupants of the Nissan Sentra which was involved in the crash with the suspect vehicle were identified as Michael Bare age 55 of Eugene and Norma Bare age 62 of Eugene. Both were transported to Sacred Heart Hospital with minor injuries.

The remaining two female passengers in the suspect vehicle were not charged and later released. The investigation into the crash is being conducted by Eugene Police Department. The investigation is still on going.
