New information in a murder suicide out of Springfield, documents reveal the killer had threatened to shoot the victim before hand.

This is just one of several recent cases where domestic violence has turned fatal and officials say they believe the problem is just going to continue to get worse.

40 year old Lisa Thacker is dead and police believe her boyfriend Brian Bruce shot her Thursday night, then turned the gun on himself.
Saturday afternoon Bruce's brother found the bodies after breaking into the home through this door to check on the couple. He came out and asked neighbor Pat Hoard to call 911, Hoard says he is haunted knowing he is the last one who saw the couple alive Thursday evening. "She was over here for a while he left and locked her out and then he came back and they went in the house," says Hoard.

Neighbors say they knew the couple would fight, Rebecca Bloom says she suspected Bruce abused Thacker but wasn't sure. Evidence shows their fights weren't average even before the shootings. Lisa Thacker went to victim's services in July of 2005 and filled out a stalking order against Brian Bruce saying he threatened to shoot her but she didn't show up to the hearing three weeks later and the order expired. The DA's office says this is fairly common.

Alex Gardener, the Chief Deputy District Attorney says, "This really isn't an isolated experience there is a tremendous amount of violence in our community."
Victim's advocates say cutbacks to services are partly to blame. Cheryl O'Neill with WOMENSPACE explains, "I think they have 200 retraining orders a month do they have the resources to follow up with these people?" While now Bloom says she would have done things differently, "I think people should take it more seriously I will from now on."
The Lane County Chief Deputy still doesn't think Lisa Thacker's death will wake up the public. "It is horrific. We should be appalled. The community won't be remembering this in 2 weeks, you watch," says Gardener.

In Lane County about three thousand restraining and stalking orders are filed each year.
The Medical Examiner will be conducting an autopsy on Bruce and Thacker Tuesday. Lisa Thacker was also known as Lisa Hayes.
