Bank robber's bomb was a fake

EUGENE, Ore - A man was shot by police after he robbed a Key Bank branch at 2829 W. 11th Ave at about 5 pm, with what he called an explosive device. According to police the suspicious device the suspect had was not real.
Police said the man is in critical but stable condition. They are not releasing his name. He was described as a 58 year old white man with a possible criminal history in California.
Police have identified the officer involved in the shooting as Officer Joe Kidd.
