FILE VIDEO: Navy tries to blow ship up

On Feb. 4, 1999, the freighter New Carissa ran aground in the surf off the coast of Oregon. Within 4 days, the freighter started leaking oil. Before the week was over, the Navy tried to blow the boat up (shown in this file video). All told, it would take most of the next decade to remove the shipwreck.
