ORE --- Craigslist has shut down its adult services section and replaced it with a black bar that simply says "censored." The online classified site which featured thousands of ads for adult services has blocked the controversial section.

The move comes just over a week after a group of state attorneys general said there weren't enough protections against blocking potentially illegal ads promoting prostitution.

The online link has been used in the past by Eugene Police to take down prostitution rings in the Eugene and Springfield area.

It's not clear if the closure is permanent, and at this time only affects users in United States.
