EUGENE - A Eugene company has hit the bullseye when it comes to business.

Bowtech, the largest bow company in the world, has been purchased by Savage Sports Corporation, a firearms manufacturer with locations in Canada and Massachusetts.

Officials say the acquisition won't change day-to-day operations. Bowtech headquarters will remain in Eugene and officials hope the combined resources of the two companies will allow bow-tech to move to the next level.

"We just launched our 2008 line of products and we are currently looking at further developing some of our lines as this will allow us these additional resources in research development to expand some of our product line," said Margaret Knupp of Bowtech.

Bowtech was founded in 1999 and currently has 365 employees. The company was previously owned by a group of 100 local investors.
