Thousands lose power in Corvallis

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Almost 11,000 customers were without power in Corvallis on Wednesday due to an interuption of service at a substation, Pacific Power said.

As of 2 p.m., power was expected to be restored to 10,864 homes and businesses in the 97330, 97331 and 97333 ZIP codes by 5 p.m. Wednesday, the company said.

By 4:20 p.m., only 5,775 customers remained without power - with complete restoration likely by 7 p.m., the company said.

The outage affected a number of Corvallis schools, including:

  • Jefferson
  • Corvallis High
  • Linus Pauling
  • Garfield
  • Franklin
  • Harding
All after-school activities were canceled at these schools except CHS sports practices.

The Corvallis High School Open House was canceled.

All schools and buses were on regular schedules and made adjustments to limit the disruption to the regular school day activities.
