UO professor missing after hike near Eugene
EUGENE, Ore. - Authorities are searching for a University of Oregon professor who failed to return from a hike near Eugene over the weekend.
Daming Xu, 63, was last seen on Sunday, Nov. 4, leaving Eugene for a hike near Cougar Reservoir, which is located in the Cascade foothills near McKenzie Bridge.
Neither he nor his car have been seen since. He was scheduled to be in class Monday.
Xu was driving an off-white 2003 Chevrolet Impala with Oregon license plates ZVH-416.
Xu is described as 5 foot 8 inches tall and weighing about 155 pounds. He teaches mathematics and statistics at the university, where he has been since 1990.
