WINSTON, Ore. -- Leave it to a couple of cheetahs and elephants at the Wildlife Safari in Winston to decide who will win it all at this year's Oregon college-football Civil War!

Cheetahs Taini and Sanurra painted on canvas in team colors Saturday afternoon. This was the first "annual" Civil War competition for the cheetahs, with one cheetah being given Duck green and yellow and the other being given the Beavers' black and orange.

In the Elephant barn, African Elephants representing a team held a punt contest to see who could kick the farthest.

Elephant George picked the Ducks and elephant Alice was rooting for the Beavers. Competition seemed fair until George, the Duck fan, faked an injury. The two elephants did so well that the referee called it a tie, and both animals won tasty trophies.

The spirited artwork from the cheetahs is being raffled off Dec. 4 at the Wildlife Safari, a non-profit zoological park dedicated to conservation, education and research. Raffle tickets are $5 each, and are available at the park through Dec. 3.
