After the Oregon Duck victory in the Dec. 4 Civil War football game, thousands of fans ran onto the field at Reser Stadium in Corvallis.

At the Oregon State University logo near 35 yard line, a large group gathered around an unidentified man wearing a white No. 9 UO football jersey.

A Portland Tribune newspaper photographer took a photograph of this person holding a burning object in the air

After the crowd cleared off the field, officials discovered that an unknown burning material landed on the artificial turf and burned a small section, causing a minimum of $1,500 damage. | See photos of the damage
