EUGENE, Ore. - From North Eugene to Willamette to Churchill high schools, even Edison Elementary, reports are pouring in of students arriving at school wearing purple in honor of two South Eugene High School students who drowned Saturday.

Connor Ausland, 18, and Jack Harnsongkram, 17, died Saturday when they were swept into the ocean and drowned.

Both young men were contestants in the upcoming South Eugene High School "Mr. Axeman" pageant, which raises money for the Children's Miracle Network. This year, there were 10 contestants vying for the title.
