Man refuses to pay fare, accused of firing gun shot
Eugene police are still looking for a man they allege fired a single shot at a cab driver.
It happened around 8 a.m Tuesday at the intersection of Iowa and Elmira in northwest Eugene.
Police say, a man hopped into a Oregon Cab Company taxi in Springfield and when it got to Eugene at the intersection. The man refused to pay his fare.
That's when he allegedly took out a handgun and fired a single shot.
Melinda Kletzok of the Eugene Police Department stated, "It missed the cab and it missed the cabbie at the same time that's a very dangerous thing cause you've got not only somebody standing there that could get hit but, in addition to that bullets can travel quite a distance"
