Minor earthquake strikes off the Oregon coast near Yachats

YACHATS, Ore. (AP) - A 5.2 magnitude earthquake struck off the Oregon coast, with little notice ashore.

Dispatchers at law enforcement agencies on Oregon's midcoast said they got no reports about the temblor on Tuesday night.

The U.S. Geological Survey reported that it was 6.2 miles deep and 255 miles west of Yachats (yah-hahts), and it was recorded at 8:55 p.m.
