Police call church fire arson
EUGENE, Ore -- A fire at the Eugene Mennonite church is being investigated as a possible arson.
The fire started at 2:04 a.m. and burned a storage shed to the ground. The fire spread to a nearby modular classroom used by Wellspring Friends School and burned through the siding and damaged the rafters.
Eugene firefighters contacted police after no ignition source could be found. Police suspect the fire was intentionally set.
Eugene police are seeking leads in the case and ask anyone with information on that fire or any other suspicious or intentionally caused fires in the area to contact Detectives Doug Jordan (541) 682-6235 or Dan Lane (541) 682-5837.
