Report: UO president to announce retirement

A report out late Monday says University of Oregon president Dave Frohnmayer will announce his retirement Tuesday.
The Willamette Week newspaper in Portland reported on its Web site Monday night that Frohnmayer will make the announcement. Dave Frohnmayer was not available for comment Monday night, but his wife Lynn told KVAL she could not confirm nor deny the report. University spokeswoman Pauline Austin also said she could not confirm nor deny the report. Lynn Frohnmayer did say her husband sent out a letter to university officials Monday, but did not specify what was in the letter. The Willamette Week story says Dave Frohnmayer will not actually leave his job for another 14 months. Frohnmayer has been the university president since 1994. He is the first native Oregonian to become president of the school. |
