McKenzie Highway blocked by head-on crash

LEABURG, Ore. - Three people were admitted to the hospital Sunday including a diabetic and a pregnant woman.

They were taken there, after an accident on the McKenzie Highway, near Leaburg, about 9 p.m. Sunday evening.

State police said the driver of a white car, when through a red light and nearly hit a sheriff's patrol car, and missed another one.

Officials suspected the driver was driving drunk, but instead found out she was suffering from a diabetic episode.

The passenger in the other car, involved in the head on crash, was a pregnant woman who's expected to give birth next week.

She was taken to the hospital as a precaution along with the diabetic woman.

No names have been released and heir conditions are uncertain as of Monday morning.
