Creswell mill burns in late night fire
Bald Knob Mill erupts into flames the Tuesday evening, May 20. By KVAL Web Staff
CRESWELL, Ore. - Employees at a Creswell mill won't be going to work Wednesday morning due to a Tuesday night fire. Some of them stood and watched their place of employment burn down.
It happened around 10:45 p.m. Some area residents lost power and 21 units were called to tame the blaze. It started inside, where a welder was working, and some wood chip debris caught on fire, mixing with hydraulic oil. An employee of Bald Knob Mill, formerly known as Hometown Mill, told us it was the third and the worst fire in the last 20 years. |
