EUGENE, Ore. - A Eugene bicyclist died Monday afternoon after colliding with a vehicle in the intersection of 13th Avenue and Willamette Street.

According to the initial investigation, David Matthew Minor, 27, of Eugene was headed southbound on Willamette Street on a bicycle and turned left onto 13th Street. He collided with a light blue Oldsmobile Cutlass that was northbound on Willamette Street and driven by Latasha Ann Williams, 31, of Eugene.

Minor was rushed to the hospital, where he later died. Police do not think he was wearing a helmet.

Toxicology reports on both the cyclist and driver are pending.

Police closed Willamette Street from 11th to 13th Avenue to allow crash reconstructionists to gather information at the scene. The roadway was closed through Monday evening. The investigation is ongoing.

Police do not determine who was at fault in an accident, according to Kerry Delf with the Eugene Police Department. However, if traffic laws were violated, police can issue citations for the violations.
