Where can I go to watch fireworks this Fourth of July?
Try the Freedom Festival at Alton Baker Park or the Eugene 08 Festival outside Hayward Field. You could also check out the festivities in Harrisburg, Dexter or on the Yoncalla Rodeo.

For more Fourth of July weekend events, check the Community Calendar.

What fireworks are legal?
Fireworks in Oregon need to travel less than 6 feet on the ground and less than 12 inches in the air. MORE INFO

To make sure you have legal fireworks, only use fireworks purchased from a licensed retail stand in Oregon.

What if I get caught with illegal fireworks?
The fine could range from $750 to $2,500, and illegal fireworks busts do happen.

I'm going camping this weekend. Can I shoot off fireworks?
Fireworks, including legal ones, are banned in state parks and on Oregon's ocean beaches at all times. Legal fireworks are also banned on public lands managed by the Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management, which protects resources and recreation opportunities -- and your pocketbook: if you start a wildfire, you could be charged for the cost of fighting it.
