Girl, 11, runs away from home, found with 23-year-old man

JUNCTION CITY, Ore. -- An 11-year-old girl ran away from home and went to Florence with a 23-year-old man she met on the Internet, police said.
Officers arrested Michael Libario Cassaro and booked him into the Lane County Jail on charges of kidnapping in the first and second degree.
According to court documents, Cassaro took an 11-year-old girl from one place to another "with the sole purpose of furthering the commission of or an attempt to commit the crime of first-degree Rape, Sodomy or Unlawful Sexual Penetration."
Junction City Police Chief Mark Chase said there's no reason to believe there was sexual contact between the girl and Cassacro. The girl was taken into custody and taken back to her parents.
Chase said the 11-year-old girl ran away from home and met up with Cassaro late Sunday evening at an undisclosed located a few blocks from her home in Junction City.
Cassaro then took the girl to his home in Florence.
Junction City Police notified Florence Police Department, who was familiar with the man, and Florence Police arrived at his residence shortly after the two arrived.
The District Attorney's Office will decide on formal charges for Cassaro.
This isn't the first time the girl has been involved in an online relationship. Chase said she was involved in an online relationship with Omar Yosafat Arriola-Flores. Court documents say Arriola-Flores is accused of "online sexual corruption of a child."
Where are her parents? This is the 2nd time she has had an online relationship with an online predator?!.... Why aren't they protecting her? and Why is she still seeking out predators online? Take away that child's unsupervised computer. Buy her a book and make her read between those covers before she gets hurt or worse... Being a Grama this makes me crazy to even think about.
All I can say is, Great Parenting. Why didn't the parents take away the computer the first time? And why are they not charged with parental neglect?

has anyone noticed the smirk on his face in his booking pic. like he thinks he did something special. big man in town. that tells me he thinks he didn't do anything wrong and he doesn't care if it is wrong. if there was ever a thought that he was taking her away and protecting her from a bad environment just blew out the window with that look.
How could you people talk about an 11 year old girl like that. Makes me sick. You don't even know her. She's had a hard life so butt out. She is an amazing little girl who just got caught up in trying to act older than she was. I'm sure most of you or your kids have been there in life. I agree that we don't know the parents or this girl. But apparently things are not going well for them, and they need something because this isn't working for any of them. THEY ARE IN WAY OVER THEIR HEADS.

If everyone was minding their own business this amazing little girl would still be in Florence with Chase or with Arriola-Flores OR WORSE. Someone needs to get involved NOW.

I would be willing to bet big money that this poor girl was sexually molested/abused before these two trysts--it is too bad she is being brought up in such an unsafe unhealthy environment. What is it going to take to get her removed from her home? The 23 year old? Life in prison. He's a baaaaad apple.Â

Where are her parents?!?! I know that it is not possible to watch a child 24/7. But there are a million and a half ways to limit their internet access. This is ridiculous.

I work with abused children also as a professional. Comments such as hers may cause harm to you AND OTHERS. I am also concerned about the posting of some of her one year old child's pictures, leaving them open to the public. She has no idea where that could lead.Â

Here's hoping that young man gets the full treatment including some state prison time for this act.
For the love of god please monitor your kids people. I have an eleven year old son and look out for his well being constantly. I guess parents just to busy with their own lives to worry about children anymore.
