EUGENE, Ore. - A Eugene substitute teacher who pleaded guilty to having sex with one of her former middle school students will likely spend no time in jail.

A judge sentenced Sarah Jayne Bridges to 60 days in jail, but Bridges has yet to start that sentence.

Lane County jail officials said Bridges has been out since posting bail before sentencing. She's waiting to go to the Community Corrections Center where she will be on work release.

This comes as no surprise to many. Deputy District Attorney Alex Gardner said the sentence would likely be short because of jail overcrowding.
