EUGENE Ore. (AP) _ The Lane County District Attorney's office says two county sheriff's deputies and two Springfield policemen were justified in using deadly force in recent separate shooting incidents.

The determination followed an investigation by the county's new 10-member Interagency Deadly Force Investigations Team. Such teams now are required by state law.

Lane County deputies Greg Jones and Todd Olson shot Nathan Miles Dix, 31, of Eugene on Monday after Dix fired a shotgun toward them.

Springfield police detectives Larry Turner and Robert Weaver shot Michael Wayne Wesley, 27, of Springfield, on Thursday after Wesley allegedly rammed a patrol car, pinning Weaver between the door and its frame.

Both Dix and Wesley were seriously wounded.
