Oregon gas prices going down, down, down
By Associated PressPORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Like the stock market, gasoline prices are going down. The average price for regular gas in Oregon has dropped 9 cents, to $3.49 a gallon - a penny more than the national average of $3.48. The weekly decline marks the lowest point for both the state and the country since mid-April. Crude oil fell to its lowest point in eight months this week, closing near $88 per barrel Monday - about 40 percent lower than the record high of $147 set on July 11. AAA Oregon predicts pump prices will continue to drop to a national average around $3 a gallon before Thanksgiving.
