Confused about your ballot?

EUGENE, Ore - There's already confusion about voting in Oregon. Ballots are arrving at our mailboxes but casting your vote is not as easy as you might think.

Each ballot is bigger and heavier than usual so it will cost voters 59 cents to mail it.

Election officials say this year there are more measures than usual. By law, they have to use at least 10 point font. In order to fit everything that was submitted, the final ballot is two inches longer than usual. It also weighs more than one ounce.

Election officials say if you put your ballot in the mail you must pay the 59 cent postage cost.

If you don't the ballot will be sent back.

Election officials say to get your ballot in the mail no later than the Friday before the November 3rd election.

Workers at the Eugene post office tell us there is only one exception to this mailing rule. The post office will deliver absentee ballots with the wrong postage.
