EUGENE, Ore. (AP) -- Eugene Civic Stadium has been added to the list of historic places in Oregon.
Built in 1938, the stadium is the only known example of a Depression-era ballpark remaining in Oregon.
The Oregon State Historic Preservation Office announced this week that the stadium has been added to the National Register of Historic Places.
It was designed as a joint project by the Eugene Chamber of Commerce, the Eugene Public School District and the Works Progress Administration.
The stadium is still used today by the Eugene Emeralds baseball team and high school sports teams.
