Shoplifting suspect swims for it

Police suspect an organized shoplifting ring is behind the rash of thefts in Oregon and Washington. By KVAL Web StaffEUGENE, Ore. -- Call it a criminal triathlon: a shoplifting suspect at Macy's ran from security guards and jumped into the Willamette River Thursday night. The man was last seen around 8:58 p.m., more than 20 minutes after jumping from the boat ramp behind the Vallery River Center, where Macy's is located. The man's identity and whereabouts are unknown. |
