Man with possible bomb robs Eugene bank
By KVAL Web StaffEUGENE, Ore. -- A man holding what looked like a bomb robbed a bank in Eugene, Ore., this morning. Shortly after 10 a.m., a man holding what looked like an explosive device entered the Umpqua Bank on Donald Street and demanded money from a teller. The suspect left northbound on Donald Street with an undisclosed amount of money. Witnesses described the suspect to police as a white male with dark eyes, about 6-feet-2-inches tall with a stocky build. At the time of the robbery he was wearing a two-tone synthetic jacket (light grey or light blue and dark blue or black), blue pants of an unknown type, and a black ski mask or hood over his face, according to police. Eugene Police and a Springfield canine unit responded within minutes but did not locate the suspect.
