EUGENE, Ore. - Blue skies and plenty of four-legged friends. It looks like the perfect day at the park. Not so for the Kontra family visiting from Corvallis.

"I'm kind of bummed," said Steven Kontra.

Steven and his brothers and sister had hoped for snow. Instead, they got sun.

"I was happy that it was snowing but I saw that it stopped and there was no snow on the ground," said Angelica Kontra.

"They're just kind of bummed because they came to stay with their aunt this weekend so mom could go Christmas shopping," said the Kontra's Aunt Deanna Schilling. "And they have snow in Corvallis where they're at and we don't have snow here."

Others were taking advantage of the unlikely weather. Everywhere in Eugene, people were out running, biking and walking. Some, like Lilly Crowheart, were thankful they dodged mother nature's snowy bullet.

"I feel good about it because I'm having a party," said Crowheart.

While the Kontra kids would have preferred to spend the day sledding and building snowmen, their Sunday isn't entirely going to waste.

"It's special staying with auntie, so it's okay," said Schilling.

Despite the lack of snow, it's still going to get very chilly overnight. So these road conditions will likely change and you could wake up to icy roads. Be sure to drive carefully.
