PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Snow, rain and freezing rain will make roads slick at least through Thursday in Western Oregon. The snow is expected to intensify as the weather front moves south.

The storm is currently stalled north of Corvallis, Ore., but could arrive in Eugene by this evening, according to KVAL meteorologist Tim Chuey.

Southerly winds may change snow to freezing rain, but colder air likely will lower snow levels Thursday before easing off Thursday night.

A winter weather advisory for the north and central Oregon coast has been canceled, as has one for pockets of freezing rain in Portland.

But it remains in effect for the Cascade Range and foothills and the Coast Range, with a cold front producing light, fluffy snow that can reduce visibility.

Up to 30 inches of snow was expected in the Cascades Wednesday night.
