Driver escapes submerged car after driving into flooded area

TANGENT, Ore. -- A driver escaped his partially submerged car after he drove into a flooded area.

Linn County officials said the Oakville, Ore., man didn't see posted signs about warning of the flooding around 7 p.m. Saturday.

Deputies said when the man called for help, he was up to his chest in water. His car reportedly drifted 30 yards and was stuck in a ditch.

The man was treated at a local hospital.
