Woman reported missing from McKenzie Bridge
MCKENZIE BRIDGE, Ore. -- A woman reported missing Dec. 28 has not been located, and the sheriff's office is asking for the public's help locating her.
Chelsea Diamond Fernandez, 25, was reported missing from the McKenzie Bridge area on Sunday, Dec. 28, 2008, around noon.
Fernandez, who lives in Vida, went to visit some friends in McKenzie Bridge and was last seen on foot on one of the spur roads in the area.
The Lane County search and rescue and the U.S. Forest Service did a limited initial ground search and is doing additional investigation now, according to John Miller, the search and rescue coordinator.
"We don't have a place to search yet," Miller said. "Hopefully the investigation will help us determine where to search for her. Right now we don't have a lot of clues so we're helping the public can help us."
Miller said there is no suspicion of foul play based on current information. Sheriff deputies are now looking into people Fernandez contacted earlier in the day.
She was last seen wearing dark blue/gray rain pants, a light blue/gray rain jacket, and a new pair of black leather lace up boots. She was carrying a light blue/gray cloth handbag and may have been wearing a hat.
