Body found in vacant lot, death called suspicious
LINN COUNTY, Ore. - Authorities on Sunday were investigating the suspicious death of a 14-year-old after the boy was found face down and dead in a vacant lot Sunday.
According to Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller, two kids playing hide-and-seek discovered the body about 12:30 p.m. in a three-quarter-acre lot full of weeds and grass located near the intersection of South 9th Street and West C Street. The lot is in an unincorporated section of land inside the town of Lebanon, he said.
The sheriff identified the teen as Quentin Alexander Thacker. | Did you know him?
Based on the evidence at the scene, it was unclear how the boy died.
"There is no sign of real obvious trauma or anything," Mueller said.
An autopsy was scheduled for Monday to determine the cause of death.
Thacker is a Lebanon High School student, Mueller said.
