COBURG, Ore. -- What a week for Monaco Coach employees.
First, 2,000 employees received notice March 2 that they were out of a job after being on furlough for months.
Then some of those workers had their final paychecks bounce after the company filed for bankruptcy on Thursday.
Craig Wanicheck with Monaco Coach confirmed that bankruptcy proceedings prompted banks not to honor employee paychecks deposited after the company filed for bankruptcy last Thursday.
"we have requested of both the courts and the banks to allow a release of the funds to cover those checks," Wanicheck told KVAL News.
Wanicheck did not know how many employees had checks bounce.
He expected to know more Tuesday. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
