5 injured in 4-car crash as driver flees police
ALBANY, Ore. - Five people were injured Friday after a man driving a stolen car ran a red light while fleeing police and caused a four-vehicle crash in Albany.

Those injured included:
- 63-year-old John Dinnis of Monmouth
- 56-year-old Candice Dinnis of Monmouth
- 46-year-old John Carreia of Albany
- 49-year-old Robert Foss of Albany
- 19-year-old Scott Foss of Albany
The Monmouth pair were treated and released from a local hospital. The conditions of the others were not known. The hospital they were taken to would not release any information on them.
According to police, the incident began after an Albany police officer tried to pull over a Jeep Cherokee that had been reported stolen from Portland. The driver refused to stop, and the chase began. The suspect eventually ran a red light on Pacific Boulevard at Killdeer Avenue and collided with a Toyota pickup, an Eagle Summit and a Nissan Sentra.
The suspect then ran from the scene but was taken into custody a few minutes later in a nearby Costco store parking lot.

Kyle Holder, 22, of Portland, was lodged in the Linn County jail on numerous charges, including first-degree assault.
Investigators determined that the Jeep Cherokee was stolen during a March 19 robbery in Portland. However, Holder was only charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, not motor vehicle theft.
Oregon State Police and members of the Linn County Multi Agency Accident Investigation Team (MAAIT) were called in to investigate the crash scene. Anyone with information regarding this crash is encouraged to call the Albany Police Department at (541) 917-7680.
